Odisha bag six medals in Mini National Archery Meet

A 12-member Odisha squad bagged a total of six medals in the 9th Mini National Archery Championship, which was held at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh from November 11 to 16, 2016. The medals included one gold, three silver and two bronze.

Salge Soren was most successful among the Odisha archers, capturing one gold, two silver and one bronze medals. She won the gold in girls 20 metre Indian Round, two silvers in Olympic and Team Round and bronze in overall competition. Jayalaxmi Mallick and Champa Kanhaga were other two member of the silver medal winning Odisha girls team.

Arjun Khara secured one silver in boys recurve overall competition, while Bagun Banara pocketed one bronze in boys Olympic round. Rajesh Hasdak and Jatadhari Rout accompanied the Odisha squad as coach and manager respectively. Odisha Archery Association president Ajit Kumar Tripathy and secretary Sradhananda Das congratulated the archers for their medal-winning performance.
